Afghanistan is not on the list of countries where citizens can stay in the United States for more than 90 days without a visa.
However, you may be eligible for a visa if you travel to Afghanistan for journalistic, academic, or business purposes or if you accompany a humanitarian worker.
You must submit an application online and pay the non-refundable processing fee. If your application is approved, you will be given instructions on traveling to Afghanistan and attending your interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
Suppose you do not meet one of the above criteria and plan to visit Afghanistan for tourism. You will need to apply for a tourist visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
Please note that all applications must be submitted well in advance of your desired travel date to allow sufficient time for processing.
