The standard Schengen visa, for visits lasting up to 90 days, is a short-stay visa, with longer stays requiring a work or study visa. Multiple-entry visas are also available if you plan to travel regularly to the Schengen area.
Indian citizens must apply for your Schengen visa more than six months and at least 15 days prior to your travel. It is advised that you apply at least three weeks before leaving, however, to allow for any delays in processing your application. You will then need to fill out your application, collect all the documents you need for your Schengen visa, and attend an interview at the Consulate, Embassy or Visa Application Center in India.
