India is most certainly a very attractive place captivating visitors from all around the globe through its art, culture, cuisines, and many historical monuments. As a visitor who wants to extend their E-visas and enjoy their time in India for a few more days, you will have to re-apply for an E-visa because India doesn’t permit any foreigner to extend their E-visas.
The Indian government currently issues three types of E-visas;
- Tourist E-visa: 90 days
- Business E-visa: 180 days
- Medical E-visa: 60 days
Can the India E-Visa be extended?
The Electronic Visa or E-Visa cannot be extended but if you want to stay for a longer period than you can surely apply for a new E-visa which will be non-extensible, cancellable, transferable, or amendable.
E-visa is linked to the passport of a visitor and is accepted in 25 International Airports and 5 Seaports. These types of visas can be applied for through online portals which can be procured by an individual in 4-5 working days without any hassle to visit the embassy.
The E-visa India can be used for various purposes, such as recreation, sightseeing, leisure, meeting family or friends, volunteer work (up to 1 month), setting up an industrial complex, starting or continuing a business venture, hiring staff from India, selling or buying products or services in India and attending business-related events as well.
The visitor must remember that E-visas allow entry into India via sea or air. One cannot enter India through roadways. If a person is in India for tourism and leisure they must carry a tourist E-visa. If you are coming to India for a business event then you must hold an eBusiness Visa. And if you came to India for medical reasons, you are not allowed to bring more than two Medical Attendants. Furthermore, you are not allowed to enter protected areas on the E-visa.
