Interestingly, there are certain circumstances that allow Indians to stay in the country for a certain number of days without a visa. Anyone considering taking a vacation to the Philippines or sailing the serene calmness of the Pacific Ocean should know the details of the Philippine visa process for Indian citizens.
Do Indians need a tourist visa to enter the Philippines
Indian nationals entering the Philippines for tourism purposes
Must apply for tourist visa. This visa is valid for 14 days upon entry into the Philippines. This stay can be further extended for a period of 7 days. If you intend to visit the country for a period of more than 21 days, you should mention the same at the time of visa application and avail the extension accordingly.
Some visa categories are available for periods as short as 3 months or as long as 6 months, however tourists are required to provide flight and accommodation details to obtain such visas for tourism purposes.
If you intend to visit the country for more than 14 days, you will need to apply for a visa. It is mandatory for Indians to apply for a Philippine visa at their embassies in New Delhi or elsewhere, even for tourism purposes.
As a tourist to the country, your visa must be accompanied by the following:
- The ticket is valid for the return journey or onward destination.
- The passport is valid for 6 months beyond the period of stay in the Philippines.
- Is Visa on Arrival/e-Visa available for Indians in Philippines?
- Currently, Philippines does not offer Visa on Arrival option for Indian citizens. As a result, you will need to apply for a visa before traveling to the country.
- Philippines Visa on Arrival is not available for Indian citizens; therefore, it is advised to apply for a visa as soon as possible. It usually takes 2-10 days to process an application. But the embassy believes it could drag on longer.
Visa rules for overseas Indians visiting the Philippines
NRIs with residence or work permits from any of the following countries can enter the Philippines for a stay of up to 14 days without a visa-
- United States of America
- UK
- Australia
- Janani
- Canada
- Schengen, or
- Singapore
This stay may be extended for a further 7 days under specific circumstances and at the discretion of the Philippine Customs Department.

Original passport with at least 6 months validity and minimum 3 blank pages + all old passports if any;
visa application form;
2 recent color photographs (photo specifications);
Personal covering letter (for employed – plain paper / for self-employed – company letterhead);
Original updated bank statement with sufficient balance. (Last 6 months);
Copy of credit card and statement of last 3 months or foreign currency receipt;
Income Tax Return/Form 16 for the last 3 years;
confirmed air ticket;
hotel confirmation and payment receipt;
Supporting financial documents like fixed deposits, property investments, other investments etc.;
