According to the latest Henley Passport Index, 2023, the Singaporean passport is the most visa-free country allowing the citizens of 193 countries or territories to visit Singapore without the need of a visa or acquiring it upon arrival.

Henley Passport Index
Henley passport index is the global ranking of countries depending on the number of countries and territories a normal citizen can access without the need for a visa. It started in 2006 and ranks 199 passports annually. It has been working with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and using official data from their global database; They have analyzed and regulated the visas of all the countries and territories since 2006.
Until 2022 Japan was the most visa-free country allowing access to 193 countries and territories but in recent times it has dropped to 190 countries. In 2022 Singapore was second in the table giving access to 192 countries and now has increased it to 193 countries which has brought it to the top. After Singapore, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, South Korean, Spanish, and Swedish passports, each offering 190 visa-free or visa-on-arrival countries and territories to its holders.
India’s ranking
India has improved its ranking and now stands on the benchmark of 80 allowing its holders to access 57 countries without any requirement of visa. In 2022 India stood on the ranking of 87.
Lowest ranking from 2022-23
Afghanistan maintains its record of being at the lowest in terms of visa-free access as its holders are only allowed to access 27 countries without any visa.
