Applying for a visa to visit Burkina Faso can seem daunting, but it doesn't have to be. Depending on your nationality, you may be eligible for eVisa that is issued online. Citizens of some countries may also qualify for a visa on arrival at the airport in Ouagadougou or Bobo-Dioulasso.
If you are eligible for an eVisa, you can apply online and receive your electronic travel authorization in as little as 24 hours. To apply, you will need to provide the following information:
A valid passport
Your contact information
Your date of birth
Your email address
Your intended travel dates
Your place of residence
Details of where you plan to stay in Burkina Faso
Information about any criminal convictions you may have
Once you have submitted all the necessary documentation and paid the application fee, your visa will be processed and sent directly to your email address. You can then print out the document and use it to enter Burkina Faso.
If you are not eligible for an eVisa, you must apply for a regular visa at the embassy or consulate of Burkina Faso closest to you. To do this, you will need to provide the same information as when applying for an eVisa, as well as additional documents such as proof of financial stability and/or a letter of invitation from someone living in Burkina Faso. Additionally, you may need to attend an interview at the embassy. After completing the application process and paying any applicable fees, you will receive your visa, which will allow you to enter Burkina Faso.
No matter the type of visa you require, it is important to apply well in advance of your planned departure date to ensure that your visa is approved on time.
