Norway is a member of the European Union and has a visa-free entry policy for nationals of many countries, including the United States. While some requirements exist to receive a visa, all visitors must apply online at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

First, applicants must have a valid passport issued no more than six months before travel. Second, all applicants must have an onward ticket and sufficient funds to cover their stay in Norway. Finally, applicants must prove that they will not reside in Norway while visiting. This can include letters from friends or family members hosting you, proof of employment in another country, or proof of funding for your trip.
