Short 72 Hours visa for Russia

To increase tourism to Russia, an experiment with this kind of visa was launched on February 1st, 2002. However, they are currently cancelled, making it impossible to obtain a 72-hour visa; instead, it is preferable to apply for a tourist visa. However, if you are taking a cruise, the cruise line should be able to give you a brief visa, which is typically only good for 72 hours.

• Invitation - Invitation letter from either a friend, relative or an establishment such as a travel agency which is authorised to issue invitation letters.

• Passport - Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages for immigration stamping. The passport should also be valid for at least six months from the date of leaving the Russian Federation.

Foreign nationals can submit an online application for an electronic visa to Russia from any location as long as they have access to a steady internet connection.

The online application should only take a few minutes to complete. The candidate must:

• Complete the eVisa application form completely and as correctly as you can.
• upload copies of the required paperwork, such as their current Indian passport
• Utilise a credit card or debit card to pay the application fee.

The traveller can anticipate hearing back on the status of their application in 2 to 4 business days after completing the whole online application.
