Long-term (D types) for ukraine

Long-term visas (D types)-Ukraine :

When a foreigner or stateless person plans to apply for a temporary residence permit to stay in Ukraine for longer than 90 days, a D type visa will be issued. D-type visas are awarded as 90-day multiple-entry visas.

Here are the list of Documents that are required to apply for Ukraine visa:

  • You have to keep a passport with yourself which should be valid for at least 3 months after you have arrived in Ukraine.  It should have at least 2 blank pages which should not be marked with any visa stamps or marks and it should not be issued before 10 years.
  • printed and signed visa application form (please see MFA advice on visa application registration above);
  • 1 applicants photo (35x45 mm);
  • proof that the applicant is a holder of (or is entitled to benefit from) a valid medical/travel insurance policy to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide a minimum of €30 000 or equivalent coverage). Holders of diplomatic/service passports are exempt from this requirement;
  • A bank statement for the past two months, cash in Ukrainian hryvnia or other convertible currency, bank cards with statements of the balances of current and savings accounts, provided the cards can be used to make purchases in Ukraine, a hotel or other accommodation booking, a letter from the applicants employer or sponsoring organisation attesting to the applicants coverage of expenses in Ukraine, a return or transit ticket, etc., are all acceptable forms of proof of having enough money to cover the costs of stay. Passport holders with diplomatic or service status are immune from this demand. Please refer to the Procedure for Providing Sufficient Funds by Foreigners and Stateless Persons Entering, Staying in, Transiting Through, or Leaving Ukraine, which was approved by Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No.884 of the Fourth of December 2013, for more information on this requirement (in Ukrainian).
  • paid visa fee receipt (unless stipulated otherwise by Ukraines legislation or Ukraines international treaty).

Please note that in cases where applicants reside in a country that is different from the country of their nationality/citizenship Ukraines Embassies/Consulates abroad may only be able to accept visa applications from applicants holding valid temporary/permanent residence documents (long-term visas/residence permits or their equivalents etc.)

There are also some additional documents required along with the above mentioned documents for the D type visa-Ukraine :

  • a certified copy of the work permit from Ukraines State Employment Center. Foreign nationals and stateless people who arent required to get a work permit in order to work in Ukraine must present a copy of their employment contract. People of Ukrainian descent must present their certificate of Ukrainian ancestry, a copy of their employment contract, a copy of their immigration permit from a local State Migration Service office in Ukraine, and any necessary documentation to prove that they are a relative of a foreign national or stateless person who has been granted temporary asylum in Ukraine. All foreign-issued documents must be officially certified, apostilled (legalised), and translated into Ukrainian;
  • a letter of invitation from a pertinent Ukrainian state authority, organisation, or institution that is receiving international technical support, along with verification that the project has been registered;
  • Invitation letter from a religious organisation properly registered in Ukraine for the performance of long-term religious, missionary, or canonical activities, together with a letter from the Ukrainian state agency that registered the organisation (such as the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine or the Department on Religious Matters of the relevant regional or city state administration);
  • invitation letter issued by a foreign non-governmental committee duly registered in Ukraine;
  • An invitation letter which should be issued  by a outside company duly registered in Ukraine;
  • invitation letter issued by a branch of a foreign bank registered in Ukraine;
  • invitation letter issued by a branch of a foreign Mass Media duly registered in Ukraine with a request to issue a visa to the Mass Media staff member;
  • official letter/verbal note issued by a relevant foreign state authority/foreign diplomatic mission/international organisation (office) with a request to issue a long-term visa to the mission/organisation (office) staff member as well as her/his family members;
  • invitation letter issued by Ukraines relevant government authority which implements respective cultural, educational, scientific, sport or volunteering programs or an invitation letter issued by an entity/institution/organisation engaging volunteers in their activities accompanied by the copy of that entity/institution/organisations state registration certificate;
  • Submitting a proof which should confirm that the person who is applying for a visa is the spouse of the citizen of Ukraine.
  • documents attesting to the applicants family relationship to a foreigner or stateless person who is currently living in Ukraine under a temporary residence visa, along with evidence that the foreigner or stateless person has enough money to pay for the applicants expenditures while living there. Documents issued by other nations should be officially certified, apostilled (legalised), and translated into Ukrainian;
  • documents defined by the subparagraph 4 of the paragraph 12 of the Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons confirming that the applicant is a founder and/or participant and/or beneficial owner of (exercises control over) the legal entity registered in the United State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Organizations of Ukraine, and that the applicants contribution (or a foreign legal entitys share in cases where the applicant is the beneficial owner or exercises control over a foreign legal entity which has a share in the Ukrainian legal entity) in that legal entitys capital comprises no less than €100 000 according to the official foreign currency exchange rate set by the National Bank for the date when the foreign investment has been made. Documents issued by foreign countries should be apostilled (legalised) and translated into Ukrainian as well as duly certified;
  • other documents (if asked by Ukraines international embassy )
